Past and Future Makers

Ali Vasey

Ali Vasey,
I’ve always enjoyed drawing and doing creative things as a hobby and love going to craft fairs. ‘No10′ has given me a great opportunity to get the creative juices flowing and take part in a craft fair myself which I’ve found hugely rewarding and a lot of fun – who knows where it may lead!

Holly Mash   Holly Mash,
I love making my vintage button bracelets. From scouring the flea markets and brocantes in France to find the buttons, to the mixing and matching of the colours and shapes into one-off bracelets, it’s all great fun! Since they featured in Country Living Magazine’s Emporium page a few years ago I’ve added earrings, rings and slides to my collection, which I call ‘Handmade by Holly’.
Celia Atkins

Celia Atkins,
I am a Cotswold based artist and jewellery maker, with a studio near Cirencester. I love to create and I am either to be found painting, sketching or making jewellery. I really enjoy making each piece of jewellery unique, and although I have sold hundreds of pieces, I doubt there are any duplicates out there! I usually start with one bead and make it up as I go along.

My hand-painted cards usually make people laugh and I enjoy just doodling and writing funny comments. It is so nice to hear people chuckling away when they look at them – what is better in life than bringing a smile to someone’s face?

You can see my art on Prints, cards and some mounted originals will be on sale at No. 10 I also paint portraits by commission – A3 are £95, which includes a card mount.

Debbie Fielding

Debbie Fielding,
Since finishing my Creative Writing Masters at UEA, I have been writing short stories and flash fiction. I am fascinated by the relationships between the arts: my ongoing project, Two Lights, investigates the connection between the visual and written arts in its exploration of the paintings of Edward Hopper.

In my endeavour to link word and image, I have recently completed a new project with illustrations. Good Condolences is a small book or ‘Chapbook,’ pleasing in the hand as well as to the eye. I read at festivals and short story events nationally, notably the Greenbelt Arts Festival in Cheltenham (2010 & 2011). I have recently had stories published in London's Litro and new magazine of historical fiction, Vintage Script. If you would like more information - please see I am @debjfielding on Twitter.

Becky Fort   Becky Fort,
Over the last few years I have discovered my creative side and now really enjoy searching out pieces to upcycle and I love finding bits that can be recycled around the house. It is immensly satisfying and on a personal level great to discover a new talent that is Made by Me!
Lilley Marcal   Lilley Markall,
Fran Newman Day   Fran Newman-Day,
Having recently completed my degree in Design for performance, I thought I’d keep my hand in by getting involved with No10. - my website

Laura Lee Gibbs

Laura Lee Gibbs,

I am loving the comeback of the ‘make-do-and-mend’ trend and have discovered a passion for all things vintage and thrifty.

Alison Banard

Alison Banard,
I have always enjoyed making different crafts and tend to specialise in knitting, textiles and jewellery. I have taken lots of courses over the years and am now starting to produce my own designs using the skills I’ve learnt.  I love visiting craft fairs for inspiration and am looking forward to joining other ‘No10′ makers at future open house events.
